Kate brings rigorous clinical training and wide ranging experience to her work.  In addition to being a licensed alcohol and drug counselor, she has 30 years of experience working with family owned firms, small businesses and non-profit organizations, including a lengthy career in production for film and television.   She has provided on-call counseling services for Hazelden's residential, outpatient and halfway house programs and for Pride Institute's residential and outpatient treatment programs.

Kate has a BA in Religion from Smith College, an MA in Organizational Leadership from the College of St. Catherine, and received her MA in Addiction Counseling with honors from Hazelden's Graduate School of Addiction Studies.

She has served on several non-profit boards of directors, and is a past president of PFund, an LGBT community foundation serving the upper Midwest.  She currently serves as Chairman of the board of the Rainbow Health Initiative.

Kate's labradoodle Spuddy is a Delta Society registered therapy dog who volunteers at Regions Hospital and is also available for work with clients.
